I absolutely love the style of these pieces, the majority being isometric with really good colour schemes and nice textures to them. My next task it to find how he creates this style. I know he has used a low poly count, but I’m unsure about the way he has coloured his pieces, so off I go in search for answers!

Really nice retro themed piece. I like the colour scheme and the retro filter that they have used. Its key framed really well and has a great flow.

I’ve finished my final self promotion video. I added a little bit of a logo sting at the end, but it also fits with the theme through the video.
I’m really pleased with how this has turned out, as at the beginning of the brief I was practically new to Cinema 4D. I’m really pleased with the music, as I think it brings some playfulness and mischief to the video and helps the give the eyeball some character.
Since hand-in, I’ve been looking of the ‘Cinema 4D’ tag on here for some inspiration, and I’ve got to say I have been inspired! I’ll post some images of pieces that I really like, and I’m going to continue to practice over summer to build up on my skills.

Sorting out my final video.
I didn’t manage to overlay the video on the Imac screen very well for hand in, so I’m fixing it so I can put the final video on the homepage of my website. I am also going to do something for the end by animating my logo.
Hopefully I should finish it by today, but last time I tried uploading to youtube it said it was going to take 200 minutes, so hopefully it should go quicker.
Waited over two months to play Mass Effect 3, due to concentrating on my last project. Finally sat down for a game session today……… 4 hours in I get the ring of death!!!
Here’s a link to site with a few links for external sites that deal with Creative Commons music. These tracks are free to use on video pieces. I would recommend Jamendo as it has a built in player whilst browsing.
This is a test using a particle emitter to create a smoke puff. This will diffuse just when the eyeball is animated to spin and bounce when a change is made. I will also add sound effects in post production.
I have added this effect into my final video, but after the first render, this didn’t show up. I think this was because I didn’t include the Environment with a PyroCluster. I’ve added this and I am currently rendering again… so hopefully it will work this time!

So, I’ve finished about three quarters of my video. I’ve added the different cameras to create a flow with the eyeball. I was kind of inspired by Toy Story, how they use the camera to track the characters around objects to give the illusion that they are small.
Now I’ve just got to finish of the final piece that “eye for detail” makes a change too, which will be featured on the screen. I’m unsure what this will be at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll narrow it down by tomorrow.

I’ve introduced this poster to the wall of my set. I wanted to show how kerning can be really important in design, but most of the time it is overlooked. Just type “bad kerning” into Google images and you’ll see what I mean. It seems like some of the favourite poorly kerned words are “flick” and “clint”.
So I designed this poster showing some badly kerned type as an ‘r’ and ‘n’ next to each other can often look like an ‘m’.

Before and after of “eye for detail” making changes to the sketchbook.
I had a look for some design quotes, which were relatively short and which could illustrated. I chose this one because I thought that I could include my branding (eye) into the design. I thought about a visual metaphor for something that catches your eye, and I came up with a poke in the eye.

This video is just to show the pre-rendered animation that I am working on at the moment. This isn’t going to be the final camera angle, I have just used this for this part of the video. This is roughly about a quarter of my video; as I will have an opening shot moving from the floor up the desk leg to the bottom of the table. This will be the second part, the eyeball will then move to the sketchbook and make changes to the design. Next the eyeball will make changes to a poster that will be on the wall behind the jar. And then finally, it will roll over to the computer and make changes to something that is on the screen.
I have completed the sketchbook and poster, but I haven’t thought about what it will do on screen (although it will be something to do with digital work).

Heres the render of the test video I was waiting for. I think that its looking really good and the eyeballs are bouncing how I wanted them too.
Todays plan of action is to get this part of the animation finished so that I can begin to render.
06 May 2012
Leaving this to render till morning. Hopefully I can get all of the main animation done tomorrow, so I can begin the mega render on my iMac. This gives me times to do a little sting with my logo and the eye ball, which can be used as a promotional piece.

Some stills from my video. I’m trying out different camera angles to see which work best.
I’ve added some different props to build a set, but also to add some depth of field to the shots.
I want the beginning of the video to start off at the bottom level with the desk and then sweep around to show the jar. As the eyeballs start to multiply and exploded the camera will follow and then focus on the ‘eye for detail’ as it falls to the ground. This is will then roll around and make changes to errors in design.

This has been rendering for about 3 hours! I’m going to lower the quality level so that I can see the animation without have to wait days for it.
